BROWSER-LOCAL · EXACT COLOR MAPPING
Pixel art palette swapper
Replace explicit RGBA colors in a static PNG. Inspect changed-pixel counts and download the recolored image without resizing its canvas.
Map exact source colors
Each row maps one four-channel RGBA value to another. A pixel changes only when all four original channels match. Duplicate source mappings are rejected. Replacements are simultaneous: mapping A to B and B to C does not turn the original A pixels into C.
Use the palette extractor to inspect decoded color values first. This is exact replacement, not similar-color selection, automatic palette reduction or image restoration.
Check alpha and unchanged details
Keep the same alpha in a mapping to preserve opacity, or change it deliberately. Unmapped pixels keep their decoded RGBA values. The image retains its original width and height; outlines and other details stay unchanged only when their colors are not mapped.
The report records matched, changed and unchanged pixels, alpha changes and per-row counts. A bounded changed-pixel mask helps locate changes; it is not a full-resolution proof that every color was intended. Inspect the downloaded PNG before using it.
Browser conversion still applies
Mappings operate on browser-decoded RGBA. Partial-alpha colors can be rounded during conversion, and fully transparent RGB or source PNG metadata may be discarded. A no-match result can therefore reflect different decoded values. Keep your source PNG and consult the report.
Selection and atomic exports
Choose one static PNG up to 10 MiB and at most 256 distinct source mappings. Animated PNGs are rejected. Geometry, encoded output and conservative memory limits apply. Processing stays on this device, without an account or image upload.
Download the recolored PNG, report, manifest or complete ZIP. A failed or cancelled job exposes no partial result.
The two-color sprite walkthrough checks the changed pixels, outlines, eyes and alpha separately.
? QUESTIONS
- Do replacement rows cascade?
- No. Every match uses the original decoded pixel. Mapping A to B and B to C leaves the original A pixels at B. Duplicate source mappings are rejected.
- Will outlines and transparency stay unchanged?
- Unmapped decoded pixels remain unchanged. Preserve alpha explicitly in each mapping when you want unchanged opacity. Browser PNG conversion can still round partial-alpha colors or discard invisible RGB.
