BROWSER-LOCAL · DECLARED PNG GRID

Sprite sheet padding

Add transparent gutters or copied edge pixels around each cell of a regular PNG grid. Download the new sheet and its geometry.

Or drop one PNG sheet here. Images stay on this device.

One static PNG, up to 10 MiB; select at most 32 frames. Output dimensions and browser memory limits also apply. Animated PNGs are rejected.

Complete declared grid

All cells are required, at most 32. No frame range, resizing or inferred regions.

Declare the complete source grid

Enter the unpadded cell width and height, all four outside margins and both gaps. The tool reads only those declared cells, in row-major order. It rejects partial grids and more than 32 cells. It cannot detect irregular or packed sprite regions.

Choose transparent padding or edge extrusion

Padding is the total gutter on each side, from 0 to 32 pixels. Extrusion copies the nearest cell edge into the inner part of that gutter, including corners; it must be between zero and the padding value. Any remaining outer ring stays transparent. Cell artwork is not resized.

The output has an outside margin equal to the chosen padding and a gap of twice that value between cells. The JSON manifest records both content and allocated rectangles. Copied edges can help particular filtering setups, but do not fix wrong UV coordinates, arbitrary mipmaps or every engine import setting.

Remove only gaps you know

To remove existing gutters, describe their actual source margins and gaps, then choose zero output padding and extrusion. Discarded gutter pixels cannot be recovered. A complete but wrong grid can still crop the wrong artwork; check the downloaded cells before import.

Use the sprite sheet splitter when you need individual frame files instead of a new padded sheet.

Static PNG limits and exports

Choose one static PNG up to 10 MiB. Animated PNGs are rejected. Source and output geometry, encoded output size and a conservative memory estimate also limit a job. An invalid or cancelled job exposes no partial export.

Download the PNG, manifest or ZIP containing both. The first-output preview is physically limited to 128 pixels per edge. Processing stays on this device. Browser PNG conversion can round partial-alpha colors and discard invisible RGB or source metadata; keep your original file.

Follow the transparent-gutter walkthrough, compare copied-edge extrusion, or remove known source gaps.

? QUESTIONS

What is the difference between padding and extrusion?
Padding is the total gutter on each side. Extrusion copies cell edges into the inner part of that gutter; any remaining outer ring is transparent. Extrusion cannot exceed padding.
Can I remove known gaps instead?
Describe the actual source cell sizes, margins and gaps, then choose zero output padding and extrusion. Only declared cell pixels are retained; discarded gutter artwork cannot be recovered.
